SILO SAFE® LID OPENERS

We convert your older type silos, where you have to climb up to open the centre fill lid, to a groundlevel lid opening mechanism. We fit our own specially made spring loaded hinge to the existing silo lid or supply a new spun lid if needed.

The hardware is galvanised or zinc dipped and stainless steel cable is used. All fittings are water proofed with polyurethane where necessary.

Fitted on site (including 1 sight glass) for $580 inc. GST

New lids (if existing lid cannot be used)
Standard – $120 inc. GST.

We recently had 3-50 T silos fitted with ground operated lid openers. We are older farmers and don’t want to climb up to open lids anymore. We bought a harness and haven’t used it. At the Wimmera Field Days we saw the lid opener display and decided thats what we want. Easy to operate, a big sight glass included, opening the from the ground is the best way.

12 x 500T and 600T Cyclone silos

We had lid openers fitted to our older silos two years ago. Nobody has to climb the silos anymore. We have found the sight glass fitted under the eave easy to see when silo is nearly full. None of us are getting any younger, so the lid openers have made our work safer and easier.

4 x 40T Kotzur silos

I have had two knee replacements and can’t climb down a silo easily anymore. My wife or a 60 yr old friend have had to do it for me. So as an OH&S solution I have had ground operated lid openers fitted. Filling the silos is a much safer job now.
